These are the issues i had with my 2 PCP's Dr Noland and NP Jenny Scott in just the last few years. These 2 individuals are in the same office at KU MedWest:
* I had to REQUEST Jenny to prescribe Ozempic when it was fairly new because she wouldn't, simply because she had several people with nausea from it. In the meantime nothing was being done about my high blood sugar. I had no side effects, it works great, and the results surprised her.
* Was told by Noland to "monitor" a 6.1 and RISING PSA blood test, when i was 55 years old, and <2.5 was normal, which means CONCLUSIVELY that i had prostate cancer. (i did), and had to have a prostatectomy ASAP after an MRI and biopsy because 60% of my prostate was affected) Found out recently it was actually high and rising for 4 years straight, but i was told that <4.0 was normal, so i didn't know. I would have a lawsuit if too much time hadn't passed. * Jenny diagnosed me with sleep apnea as the cause of my fatigue, (which i knew was incorrect) I actually have autoimmune disease, which causes extreme fatigue / exhaustion. * Jenny DENIED my prescription refills numerous times, for no reason, and didn't give a reason. * Jenny went on vacation over the July 4th holiday, so she wasn't available for my appointment i had scheduled for July 5th, that i had to wait 6 weeks for, and i wasn't notified until 3 hours before my appointment time. This almost cost me a lot of money from a narrowly missed insurance deadline for an annual physical. * Noland did the bare minimum when giving a physical, and just wanted to talk about the Chiefs. He didn't do anything that was due or overdue that should have been done. He also should have increased the dosage on 2 of my meds, i found out later. * Jenny had an attitude at my next physical because she had to do everything that Noland didn't do at my prior physical, and she rushed through my physical, while complaining about Noland to me, which resulted in MORE mistakes. * Jenny called in the INCORRECT DOSAGES of 2 of my prescriptions because she wrote the incorrect dosages in my physical / visit notes. Then she tried to tell me I was wrong. (i wasn't) * Jenny incorrectly coded preventative bloodwork for annual physicals 3 years in a row, which resulted in bills i shouldn't have had, and had to fight with her office AND billing each time. * Jenny couldn't identify / diagnose Psoriasis, which is VERY COMMON. She diagnosed it as Erythma, which is defined as "reddening of the skin caused by injury". Not even close. * i have a small hernia that i've known about for years that Noland or Jenny Scott never felt / identified after years of annual physicals in which they felt for a hernia! My new PCP identified it immediately at my FIRST visit. * Finally, upon reading the notes from my latest physical, i discovered that my records are so full of mistakes, and misdiagnosis, they are mostly useless. That was last thing i expected to see from a doctors office. I got very upset about that, and i complained about it, and made an appointment with Dr. Singh, who my wife has and likes her a lot. I was consequently BANNED from using KU Health Systems by Lesli Jackson, Practice Manager at KU MedWest. I got no Patient Advocate contact info. She didn't even give her phone # or address, or an opportunity for me to give my input on my issues, so obviously she / they don't care that there are serious problems that should be addressed. I interpreted this as meaning "you question our competence, or complain about us, we ban you". So, they apparently believe they never do any wrong. That was just one more instance of unprofessionalism on their part. Congrats on your 2.3 star reviews Leslie Jackson! Keep up the great work! You did me a favor by banning me, because my new PCP is actually competent. I also know 2 people who saw Jenny, and didn't like her. As you can see, they gave me PLENTY of reasons to complain, and there is more. I found that Dr Singh isn't taking new patients, while Noland and Jenny are. There's a reason for that!

The family medicine clinic has really gone down hill! They say to use mychart to contact a doctor or a nurse with your concern! That's a joke! I've had medical concerns and I've concerns with my insurance regarding a medicine and I have wait two weeks for the an answer!! The Doctors are impatient and will only spend a very short time with patients!
They are in such hurry! One of these days a family medicine doctor is going to be in an hurry that they will miss something with a patient and that patient will end up with a serious disease like cancer! 10 or 15 minutes with a patient and that's not good! The people at the front who checked patients in are rude!! I've been with the family medicine clinic over 10 years and I've seen the decline! Not only me but two of my friends went to this clinic and one of my friends almost died because the doctor didn't take time to listen to her! If you want be doctor then be a doctor with compassion and understanding. If you can't show these qualities then you are in the wrong profession! The best doctor I had at the clinic was Dr. Sarah Marks! She knew how to be a real doctor! I'm ashamed of what this clinic has become! I can say this because I've been at this clinic for a long time and I want file a complaint but that won't change anything! .

DO NOT GO HERE for Primary Care- I have been going here for about a year and every time that I talk to them it’s a hassle in a fight to get what I need and what’s best for me. The doctors are very egotistical, they want to tell you that they know more about your own body even though they go out and they talk to the attending position and they come back and say no she’s right. They think what’s more important is what they know about medicine and not you as a patient. I repeat STAY AWAY from KU for Primary Care!

When getting services the tech would not explain anything to us, and we were not even asking about the results because I know we have to wait for the doctor to look them over. But she wouldn't explain what she was doing at all. Super cold. Couldn't care less about being human. Worst experience with a medical professional I have had in a long time.
