If you’re preparing to interview for an entry level position at modernizing medicine and are currently working a job prepare for them to waste your time with 6 interviews for it to lead to nothing. No constructive feedback or response in emails towards why either.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to warn any physician considering doing business with Modernizing Medicine. I’m a practicing physician in Florida, who was in the process of starting my own practice under an MSO. Modernizing medicine is used by many practices in the MSO I’d be with, and therefore decided to use them for my practice.

After agreeing to use them, I paid $3,000 as a start up fee, however a few days later, I decided to work as an independent contractor with the MSO and requested a cancellation. They said they would get back to me in a month. After two months and multiple emails regarding the refund, I was not able to get a response. I had to go in person to the Boca Raton location to see if there is anyone that could talk to me about the cancellation. I was then told that the only means of contact is by email, and there is no phone number. Eventually, they said they would cancel the contract but keep the $3,000.

As an independent contractor, Modernizing medicine would still be making monthly income from my practice. They could have refunded me the $3,000 since there was no database created and because they would still make money off me as an independent contractor. But that wasn’t enough. They did not refund $3,000 because they are greedy and they didn’t have to.
Modernizing Medicine is quick to take your money and will be nowhere to be found if you have any issues or questions that require customer service. If you are a physician considering Modernizing Medicine for your EMR, do not do it. There are many other options out there at better price points, and more importantly, with customer service that isn’t complete garbage.

Left messages for weeks now and sent emails too, since November 2023 (two months)! No one calls back. Company seems too big to care about physicians, at least small practices. Nice platform if you have no problems but it is without customer care after sign up. Consider a different vendor/EMR at this point. You have been warned! I’m now looking into other EMR’s and my practice and I have been clients for 7 years….

Modernizing medicine initially was fantastic. Lately— their EMR is incredibly glitchy. For busy practices— it has become a headache. Support is poor to respond and address my concerns. They would push updates in middle of the work week. Every single day the past few weeks— there would be 15-30 minutes where the system would be non functional and then work again. I have raised this issue multiple times and there has been no progress on building a consistent reliable EMR that functions and does not interrupt the weekday work flow.

Is it too much to ask for a reliable operating EMR for doctors offices to function. And if major updates needs to happen during the work week, i fully understand but let the doctors know weeks in advance to adjust. Not last minute the night before!

Update: 9/27/2023- the ophthalmology division reached out to explain they are working on improving reliability- i will amend my review once platform reliability is demonstrated.

Update 11/30/2023- EMA reliability past few weeks finally appear more stable without any slowdown or hiccups in the regular operations of the EMR. Main thing now is to see if they become better organized at beta testing internally before pushing wide release of new updates.

Its impossible to stop marketing emails from Modmed. First it was Kyle Chadsey and Kimberly Schusler. I requested to stop emails. Now its Brett Ferguson. The emails just do not stop. If this company has your contact info, they will keep harassing you

Do not purchase this emr system. We have been with the company for over 11 years. It used to be good when the company was owned by Gmed. Ever since modernizing medicine took over, the customer service and support are horrendous. They hire low level employees for Tier one support and then pass the buck from one support person to another when they can not figure out the issue. They advertise as being a robust program but in reality it is a small scale program with many many glitches. Please please go with a more robust software for your emr needs.

I have been working on Modmed for over two years now and at first when you called Customer Service they would help you with any issue you might have but now you call and they need to create a case then hopefully you get a call back or maybe an email on instructions on how to fix your problem but that could take a week. What is going on there do they not have enough employees and are they just putting people in customer service who are not being trained right. Is Modmed getting so big that they don’t care about their current clients.
Someone should look into to this issue.

We went live with Modernizing Medicine three years ago this April. We were able to easily meet Meaningful Use during our FIRST YEAR and have successfully reported ever since. We are a busy Dermatology Practice with 6 providers, multiple locations, and seeing up to 200 patients a day. Modernizing Medicine is easy to navigate and takes the grunt/guess work out of coding! When we've run into a problem or have suggested a change that would make the system easier for us to use, Modernizing Medicine has always promptly responded. The Tech team is knowledgeable and efficient. We have no complaints about this company and would refer them to any medical practice without reservation!
